2011 in review.

1 Jan

2011 had to have been one of the most happenin’ years of my life.

Every year was happenin’, but this one had so many ups and downs, I am legitimately glad I keep a planner so I can have a physically documented account of what I did with the past 52 weeks.

Let’s start with December 2010.

*My best friend and her boyfriend got engaged, and I knew for like a week before he did it (I kept asking him when he was going to freakin pop the question so I could stop avoiding her…we shared a living room/bedroom/bathroom for goodness sake)

*Road tripped down to Sahn-Dee-Ah-Go with some pretty hilarious and awesome people.

*Dawgs baffeled Huskers fans with a nice Holiday Bowl win over heavily favored Nebraska. Suckers.

*Thought about publishing my blogs.

My next event, I owe all of my 2011 success to my New Year’s Kiss. According to Wikipedia, the NYE Kiss sets the tone for your year, so thank you Seattle Sportsnet for my New Year’s Kiss and all the events of 2011.

January 2011

*I detoxed for like, 3 days…it was supposed to be 7.

*According to my planner I went to the Little Red Hen mulitple times.

*I was featured on Karate Emergency (all due in part to my kissing of SSN)

*I put in my two weeks to Lululemon…which actually, the conversation happened at the Little Red Hen.

*I did something to my hair, I ran a few miles, ooh, I made enchiladas on Jan 27th…went to church with my Great Gramma.

*My Gramma Gramma was diagnosed with lung cancer. Not cool.

*BSmas was created by my friend Brinton Slaeker (BS) and I (BS). He likes the number 11 and I like number 20. So on the odd months we celebrate BSmas on the 11th and the even months it is on the 20th.

*Decided to publish my blogs. For real.

February 2011

*Feb 2nd I put my $426 down payment down on my book…only a third of the way paid for.

*Went to the Red Hen some more…

*Had a “Lazy day”, as my planner tells me, on Feb 5th

*I played outdoor soccer, bought zumba on the Kinect, played some slowpitch, my uncle Brent came to town.

*Looks like I went to dinner on Valentine’s day…but it doesn’t say with who.

*My Gramma had surgery (she’s all better: YAY!!!!)

*Played in a snowshoe softball tournament…literally.

*Decided I wanted to play softball in Italy

March 2011

*I turned 23 the same day I put more money down for the book and the same day as Dr. Seuss.

*I also went to the Hen for my birthday. Good times had by all. There is video evidence I hope no one ever sees.

*I attended my first Husky Softball games as an Alumni.

*I went to San Francisco for my Italian visa.

*Got something else done to my hair.

April 2011

*Went to the Yella Beak for the first time.

*Made my third and final payment for the book!!!

*Won our Co-ed Outdoor Soccer championship

*Had the most epic interview with Victoria Hayward…and then I accidentally taped over it.

*Met Randy Montana on the 15th.

*HAD PUPPIES! (Not me…my dog)

*Tried to play in Italy…visa was rejected. BOO.

*Interned with Kenny Mayne. The man.

*Saw Eric Church and Toby Keith at the Gorge!

*Kelly Denman: RIP girl!

*Had another devastating event: Tucker Johnson passed away in a car accident (his mom died in a car accident 7 years ago…his family is one of my all-time favorites, very, very, very heartbreaking)

September 2011

*Two friends got married: Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Garrett Rutledge (Jordan Morrow) and Mr. & Mrs. Eduardo Millan (Christina Rios)

*I celebrated my 18th year off treatment for leukemia on November 25th!!

*Dawgs won the Apple Cup. Of course.

December 2011

*I flew to Alaska and did a softball clinic with Morgan Stuart: I LOVE KETCHIKAN!

*I was hired at a NEW JOB that I got all by myself :) A sales and marketing position!

*Went to Nashville again, had quite the momentous news broken to me, went to the Titans vs. Saints game and Jake got to playyyy!! And he did well! And he was the top play on Sportscenter! I love those guys.

*Lefse. Learn about it.

This has been a pretty phenomenal year. I am pretty sure none of that meant anything to you but I thought it was fun to look back on the year :)

I have two mottos, one was a friend’s status and one I saw on Pinterest:

Keep your heels, head and standards high

and then

Have less, do more, be more.

I just love both of these.

Some of my goals for 2012

*Walk the stairs whenever I can.

*Work out 4 days a week and drink more water.

*Sell 1,000 books.

*Start the process of another book…

*Use my connections and start a small talk show!

*Travel to another country!

*Keep my room clean (it can only be dirty 5 days out of the month).

*Save $300 a month (yikes.)

What about you?? Think about what you want your motto to be for 2012.

Love, Bailey.

Don’t forget I owe all the success to Seattle Sportsnet. Go like his page.

Happy 70th birthday to my amazing Grandfather. I love him so much and am very thankful for him (Plus, he doesn’t look 70, so I hope I can take as good care of myself as he does, he’s a great example of hardwork at it’s finest!)
